The second of two LPs documenting a pair of concerts featuring trumpeter Freddie Hubbard and tenor saxophonist Stanley Turrentine contains two contrasting versions of Herbie Hancock’s ”Hornets” and a second rendition of ”Gibraltar” that is similar but different than the version heard on the first volume. With keyboardist Hancock leading the particularly strong rhythm section (which also includes guitarist Eric Gale, bassist Ron Carter, and drummer Jack DeJohnette), this is an enjoyable if not quite essential acquisition.
